  • Thesis: Techniques for dealing with growing latencies to main memory. A methodology to decompose application access patterns by data structure; why such a decomposition is useful. A programmable prefetch engine at the level-2 cache that can generate prefetches arbitrarily far ahead in the future without polluting the cache hierarchy. Compilation techniques to generate concise programs for this prefetch engine.
