Applying for Your Degree

Students are now able to complete and submit the Masters Graduation Application Form on-line through the Graduate School's web site. The instructions, policies and forms needed for graduation can be found on the online at the Graduate Schools forms page External Link Icon

CS graduate students should follow these steps:
  1. Request a degree check from the CS Graduate Coordinator prior to, or at the beginning of, the semester in which you plan to finish the Masters degree requirements. The degree check will be done on EASI.
  2. For Summer 2008 graduation, submit the online Application form beginning June 6, 2008 until July 25, 2008. The CS Department is participating in a pilot project whereby all procedures for applying for a masters degree are done online.
If you miss this deadline, you must complete the paper form of the Master's Graduate Application. If for some reason you do not graduate that semester, you will need to complete another online form. Contact the Graduate Coordinator for instructions.
  3. When the online Application form is submtted, an email will be generated to the graduate coordinator, who will again check that the coursework, background requirements, and minor courses have been approved. When the graduate coordinator gives the approval, it will automatically be routed to the Graduate Adviser for approval and to the Graduate School degree evaluator for final approval. No other paper forms are required when using the new online Applicaton for Candidacy procedure.
  4. Students who miss the deadline to apply online must fill out the paper copy of the Masters Graduation Application and the Masters Degree certification forms as soon as possible. Forms must be submitted to the graduate coordinaor who will review them and then obtain the signature approval of the Graduate Adviser. It is the student's responsibility to see that all signed forms are submitted to the Graduate School by the last class day deadline (August 15, 2008, for Summer 2008 graduation).
