Computing is for Everyone. From programming concepts, to database design, web site development, 3-D graphics, and networking, these classes are designed to help you succeed in business, music, education, arts, media, engineering, medicine, science and beyond.
The Elements of Computing certificate program is a set of courses offering students a background in the fundamentals of computing, as well as the key application areas of computing in today's information economy.
Computer Science is about applying technology to solve problems in everyday lives. Computer Fluency will help you understand how computing works in a fun way!
Ever wonder how the internet really works? Will artificial intelligence really take over the world? A lot of people are confused (or misled) about computer science. It's not about the intricacies of a complicated operating system or the peculiar syntax of some programming language. Sure, computer scientists might know these things - but who cares? That's not what's interesting.
Computer Science is also about applying technology to everyday lives. How does an iPod work? Are you sure that picture is real? What does it mean to be "digital?"
This course is not for computer science majors. We won't be going into great detail. The course is designed to try and take the mystery out of the box in a fun way!
