Elements Certificate Request

For departmental certification:

Upon completing CS 303E, CS 305J, or equivalent and 9 additional hours of Elements courses – including 6 upper-division hours – with a letter grade of C or better, a student may request:

An Elements of Computing certificate from the Department of Computer Sciences
An accompanying letter signed by the departmental chair that provides information about the program and lists the courses taken by the student. You have the option of having your grades omitted or included in the letter.

If you have difficulty printing the sheets, please call 512-471-9509 to have a request form mailed to you. You may drop off your request in Taylor Hall 2.126, the CS Undergraduate Advising Office, or mail your request to:

For university certification:

An Elements of Computing certificate from the University of Texas
A notation of program completion on the student's official transcript
