The College of Natural Sciences provides a variety of services online which include:

Concurrent Enrollment Petition

If an undergraduate student wishes to enroll at another University during the Fall/Spring semesters a petition must be submitted and approved in order to transfer the class to UT.

Taking more than 17 Hours a Semester

Students who wish to take more than 17 hours a semester must meet with an advisor to get approval.

Adding and Dropping Courses

Probation and Dismissal

Students on probation and dismissal may contact their advisor to discuss options. Depending upon individual circumstances students may also meet with a counselor in the Dean's Office

Grade Contract

Students who go below a 2.0 overall UT GPA in the College of Natural Sciences must fill out a grade contract. The contract requires a student to:

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you feel that your probation status is unrelated to any academic concern (e.g. documentable, non-academic personal problem, etc.) make an appointment, as soon as possible, to see a counselor, 471-4536.

Computer Science Policies
Prerequisite Policy

The CS department checks for prerequisites for CS courses. For more information on prerequisite requests, contact the CS Undergraduate Office in TAY 2.126 at under-info@cs.utexas.edu or 512-471-9508.

Repeat Policy

Undergraduates may not enroll in any CS course more than once without written permission from an advisor. No student may enroll in any CS course more than two times unless there are nonacademic circumstances.

Fourth CS Course Policy

Students may get permission to take 4 upper division CS courses by filling out the request form and turning it in to TAY 2.126. There are only two conditions that a student may be eligible to take 4 CS courses:

Graduate Class Policy

Undergraduates may request to take a graduate course. The minimum requirements to take a graduate course is an overall UT GPA of 3.0 and 60 hours of course credit. CS students may pick up the form to request to take a graduate course in TAY 2.114.

Late Adds

Students may late add CS courses by picking up a form in TAY 2.126 in the Fall/Spring semesters from the 4th - 12 class days, and in the Summer from the 3-4 class days. The student must obtain the professor's signature and return to TAY 2.126 with the form in order to be added to an open section of a class.
