The Department of Computer Sciences offers a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences. The Bachelor of Science has two options: Option I: Computer Sciences, and Option II: Turing Scholars Honors.
Both degrees will prepare students for either industry work or graduate school entry. For career purposes, either degree may lead to identical work positions. It is important to note that the greatest single factor in obtaining desirable jobs upon graduation is having previous work experience. Other important factors include strong communications skills and leadership experiences.
For graduate school purposes, either degree will provide the background necessary to enter a graduate program in computer sciences. Undergraduate research is a key component of preparation for graduate school, and fits within the structure of both degrees.
