The Department of Computer Sciences offers two undergraduate degrees - a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. The Bachelor of Science generally requires more science hours while the Bachelor of Arts offers a broader-based education with more required humanities/liberal arts courses. Bachelor of Arts with a major in CS Bachelor of Science in CS, Option I: CS Bachelor of Science in CS, Option II: Turing Scholars
Foreign Language 4th semester proficiency in a foreign language of your choice Three Options:
  1. 2 semesters in a single foreign language of your choice
  2. 1 semester in a foreign language and 1 course in the same language area, from approved cultural course list (taught in english)
  3. 2 courses from approved cultural course list (taught in english)
Mathematics M 408C, M 408D (or equivalent sequence) and 1 additional math course chosen from approved list M 408C, M 408D (or equivalent sequence), M 340L, and 1 additional math course chosen from approved list
Additional Science 6 hours of science (not Math, not CS) An 8 hour science sequence containing a laboratory component AND an additional 6 to 8 hour science sequence from approved list
Computer Science Hours 39 hours of computer sciences; Maximum 42 hours of computer sciences 45 hours of computer sciences 46 hours of computer sciences, including required honors coursework
Computer Science Thesis Optional Optional Thesis approved by director of Turing Scholars program
