The Department of Computer Sciences has an annual application cycle for students who are already CS Majors, including students admitted to the Turing Scholar Program.
For the 2007-2008 academic year, 46 undergraduate students were awarded scholarships totalling over $173,000. The donor sources included industry, foundation, endowment, and private donors.
The application for the upcoming fall/spring semesters is due: May 31st at 4:00 PM - If this day falls on a University holiday or a weekend, the deadline will be the first business day following May 31st. The application consists of personal information and a one page essay.
Eligible Students who can apply for CS scholarships include CS, Pre-CS, and Turing Scholar majors.
If you are awarded a scholarship, you must enroll full-time (minimum of 12 hours) in the subsequent fall and spring. The scholarship award is typically awarded in halves. If your class enrollment is less then 12 hours, you will forfeit the scholarship for that semester.
Decisions are made during June and July. Recipients are notified in early to mid-July.
