Alumni Email Forwarding Terms of Service

This Agreement is between the Department of Computer Sciences ("Department") at The University of Texas at Austin ("University"), and you ("User"), a graduate of the Department.

The Department agrees to furnish you an @alumni.cs.utexas.edu email forwarding address ("Address") and email forwarding service ("Service"), subject to the terms of this Agreement. This Agreement represents the sole and entire agreement between the Department and the User, and supersedes any previous agreement, or written or oral communication, between us. The Department may modify the terms of this Agreement at any time by publishing notice online at http://alumni.cs.utexas.edu. You agree that your use of the Service after such notice is given will constitute your acceptance of the modified terms of service.

Your Address is provided to you as a graduate of the Department. It may not be shared with, used by, or transferred, assigned, or sold to another party. You agree that you will use the Service in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

The Department reserves the right to send email to your Address at any time, as necessary, regarding technical and administrative issues concerning your Address or your use of the Service.

The Department may occasionally use your Address to contact you with news or announcements of interest to our alumni, including outreach campaigns in support of the Department. You may elect to opt-out of receiving such messages by sending email to accounts [at] alumni [dot] cs [dot] utexas [dot] edu ( accounts [at] alumni [dot] cs [dot] utexas [dot] edu).

This Service is provided 'as is,' without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, and without limitation. The Department disclaims any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The Department disclaims liability for any damages or injury caused by: any use of the Service; or any inability to access the Service; or any interruption or failure of the Service; or any data transmission error, delay, or loss; or transmission of computer virus or other harmful content; or any loss or disclosure of, or unauthorized access to, any privileged or confidential information; or any transmission of 'spam', harrassing, defamatory, or abusive email, or objectionable or illegal content; or any other cause whatsoever. You agree that use of the Service is entirely at your own risk. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the University, the Department, and the employees thereof: from any and all damages, injury, or loss associated with your use or attempted use of the Service; or from any dispute arising from a breach of terms of this Agreement; or from any claims, expenses, attorney fees, or court costs, related to your violation of the terms of this Agreement.

The Department reserves the right to terminate this Agreement without notice and upon its sole discretion if, in the judgment of the Department, your use of the Service is in violation of the terms of this Agreement or other applicable laws and regulations. You may terminate this Agreement and discontinue use of the Service at any time by sending email to accounts [at] alumni [dot] cs [dot] utexas [dot] edu ( accounts [at] alumni [dot] cs [dot] utexas [dot] edu).

This Agreement, or any dispute arising from the terms of this Agreement, or from a breach of this Agreement, will be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
