11/08/2016 - The other day I was browsing (read: procrastinating) around and reading about what's new in the tech world when I happened to come across something that made me absolutely giddy. First of all, some background info: I am a computer science major pursuing a certificate in environment and sustainability. Yes I know, the two are kind of completely unrelated but I was always something of a hippie so what was I to do? 02/04/2016 - This semester, instead of a full complement of CS or math classes, I’m taking a few liberal arts classes in government and philosophy. One of the classes I’m taking, Constitutional Interpretation (which is really constitutional law), is considered one of the most—if not the most—challenging classes offered by the government department. The professor usually teaches in the law school, but occasionally teaches undergraduate classes; when he does, he usually teaches them the same way he teaches them in law school. Read more
02/02/2014 - I remember staying awake until 4 AM in high school talking to my best friend about an essay that we were both freaked out to write the next day in class. It was a weeknight, and for some reason, we had convinced our parents that a sleepover would be a good idea before our slow death on lined paper the next day. When she fell a chapter behind in math, I could always show her a few concepts she’d missed in class, and in a few hours we’d be on the same level again. Read more
