Talk Title: "
;Fault Tolerance in Asynchronous Logic"
Talk Abstract:
Manufacturing defects or errors due to transient phenomenon can impact the
correct operation of asynchronous circuits. I will present an overview of t
he impact of these errors on the operation of asynchronous circuits
, and in particular on quasi delay-insensitive asynchronous circuits. I wil
l present a range of techniques for managing different types of failure mec
hanisms in asynchronous circuits. These techniques have been successfully u
sed to demonstrate the first radiation-immune re-programmable logic array.<

or of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell, where his group cond
ucts research on asynchronous design. He received his B.S. (1994), M.S. (1
995), and Ph.D. (1998) from Caltech, and has been on the Cornell faculty
since 1998. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER award, three best paper a
wards, five teaching awards, and was named to MIT technology review''s to
p 35 young innovators under 35. He is a co-founder of Achronix Semiconducto
r, a fabless semiconductor company developing high-performance FPGAs.
