Talk Title: Introducing "Net-Centricity" to Traditional Stove Pipe
Satellite Ground Systems
Talk Abstract:
This presentation will high
light activities at Sandia National Laboratories to introduce "Net-Centric"
approaches to traditionally stove piped satellite mission data processing
ground systems. Sandia has developed a service layer architecture that can
reside between ground systems with significantly different software archite
ctures and provide a means for the systems to tightly interact. The service
layer can also provide a portal into the ground systems to enable centrali
zed command and control and additional external mission data processing wit
h minimal impact to the independence of each ground system. In other words
, the service layer acts as both a buffer and a technology adapter for disp
arate ground systems. This talk will focus on the software architecture,
the enterprise design patterns, and technologies used to develop and deplo
y the service layer.
