ing Affect Employing Competitive Game Play"
Talk Abstract:
A dynamic
notion of affect (degree of satisfaction) that an agent acquires in compet
itive iterated game play is developed. Simulated play against both a random
environment and a competitor agent is used to study the impact of affect o
n game playing strategies. For definiteness, the simulations are framed i
n terms of stock market trading with the agent being the investor and the m
arket supplying the environment. Comments on how affect in game play infor
ms notions of consciousness along with some illustrative simulations are gi
ven.
