hen build your dream app in our 24-hour Hack competition.

Each year w

e visit a handful of top engineering universities, for a week of all thing

s Open Web. During the week you‚ll have the opportunity to attend tech ta

lks and hands-on coding workshops where you‚ll develop your ideas, get h

ack tips and learn about web programming languages, industry tools and tec

hnologies. The week‚s events culminate in the University Hack Day competi

tion˜a festival of caffeinated coding, food, games, music, fun, demos
and, of course, cool prizes.

The winners from each university will
join us at the University Hack Showdown in California to battle it out for
the ultimate university hacker title, more prizes and the opportunity to

demo their winning hack to VCs, web entrepreneurs and Yahoo! executives.

We‚ll give you access to tons of APIs and tools in the Yahoo! Develo

per Network(check out YQL, YUI3, Metro and SearchMonkey just to name a fe

w) but you‚re welcome to use any open source web tools to bring your hack
to life. Remember hacking is not about perfect code, just a cool idea and
working prototype.
