In the first half of the talk, I''ll talk about resu
lts I recently presented
at MSST (massive storage systems & techn
ologies) on techniques for recovery
of erasure-coded storage. The tech
niques I describe are complementary to
traditional RAID techniques (e.
g., parity declustering and distributed
sparing).
In the s
econd half of the talk, I''ll give a high-level, informal overview of
an eventually consistent, erasure-coded key-value storage system we have
been building.
