ell your friends - we''re looking for summer interns and FT!

In the ea

rly days of S3, before the team wrote a single line of code, they came up
with a list of ten design principles that would guide the architecture and
building of the product. Even though five years have elapsed, those desig

n principles are still relevant and important - maybe even more important.

In this talk, Allan will discuss some of the
trends in distributed compu

ting that led to the design principles, and then discuss the design princi

ples themselves, drawing on examples from S3''s architecture to illustrate

.
