Talk Title: "Real World Information Security"
Speakers: Charlie Scott/Asst. Info. Security Officer & Alek Amrani/Network Security Analyst
Abstract: Lately there has been news of several high-profile security breaches that resulted in the theft of sensitive data. If organizations are going to improve their IT and application security posture, they require trained and skilled staff in information security. In conjunction with the Department of Computer Science, the Information Security Office has created a class called Real World Information Security, which is being run for the first time in Fall 2014, with the intention of providing practical training in information security to CS students. This talk will give an overview of the class and its goals. There will be time for questions and conversation.
