Notebook Support

The Department of Computer Sciences is happy to offer a limited notebook computer support program. Software support and backup services will be offered for Dell Latitude D600, D610, D620, and D420 notebooks as well as Apple Powerbook G4s, Macbooks, and Macbook Pros.

If you would like a supported laptop, please inform the purchasing office at the time you place the order. Once purchasing receives the laptop, we will install a software image that contains commonly used software and a network-based backup solution. In the event of a hard drive or operating system failure, we will be able to re-install the software image for you with all the pre-installed applications. Then you can restore your data from the backup server.

Limited hardware and software support will be available by email, but carry-in service will be restricted to replacing the software load on the laptop with a fresh copy.
