We have a license for Mathematica 5.2 through the College of Natural Sciences. The download page is to obtain the Windows/Mac/Linux software for student-owned machines. For installation on university-owned machines, people should send mail to mathematica@cs (Amy has CDs to lend out). Faculty members who want to install the software on personally-owned machines need to register with Wolfram Research to obtain a free copy from here: http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/academic/homeuse.cgi
The Department of Computer Sciences
is a member in the
Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance
program. This membership was graciously donated to us by Microsoft
and makes available to us certain Microsoft software products
for instructional and research purposes.
In order to provide the software to you, we have set up this secure download site. You will be required to use your UNIX login name and password to access the software packages. More packages will be added to the site as they become available.
You will need to send email from your CS email account to udb@cs.utexas.edu or go to Tay 145 to be given access to the MSDN/AA download site. Since there is no reason for MSDN software to be loaded on a CS production host, all hosts in the .cs.utexas.edu domain are blocked from accessing this page.
You must have a UNIX account within the Computer Science department to be eligible to load program software on your personal use computer. Guest account holders are not eligible to receive program software.
Important By downloading this software you agree to abide by the rules and restrictions of the MSDN/AA End-User License Agreement. Failure to comply may result in the suspension or termination of your CS account.
If you have questions concerning this announcement or the download site, please send them to gripe@cs.utexas.edu
