Using UTCS PBX
For CS offices in Taylor, Painter, and Main only

All internal extensions have 4 digits: dial 7 followed by the last 3 digits

To make an emergency call

Dial 911

To make interoffice calls

Dial the 4-digit extension number

To make intercampus calls

Dial the 5-digit extension number

To make outside calls

Dial 9, then the phone number

To make long distance calls

Dial 8, then your authorization code, then the area code and phone number

To make toll-free (800, 866, etc.) calls

Dial 9, then 1 800...

To transfer calls

Press the flash button, then dial the 4-digit extension, then hang up

To redial (your last outgoing call)

Press **

To change the volumes

Adjust the volume switch on the handset to control incoming voice volume

Adjust the volume control button on the phone base to control speaker volume

Adjust the volume control button on the phone base to control ringer volume

To use speaker

While on a call or talking on intercom, press the handsfree button

To conference a call (or multiple calls)

While on a call, press flash button (you'll get a second dial tone), then dial the next number (internal, external, or long distance), then press the flash button again to join the conference

To forward phone calls

Dial *611 from the phone you want to forward, then dial the 4-digit extension to which you are forwarding

To cancel call forwarding

Dial *610 from the phone that was being forwarded

To pick up a call on someone else's phone

Dial *67, then the 4-digit extension

To log into your voice mail (from your own telephone)

Dial *512, then your password (9876 is the default password you use the first time), follow the prompts to set up or change your personal message and password

To retrieve your voice mail (from a phone within the department)

Dial *510, then *, then enter your 4-digit extension

To retrieve your voice mail (from a phone outside the department)

Dial your number, then immediately dial *#, you will be prompted for your voice mail password -or- dial 471-7316, then *7, and the last 3 digits of your number

To leave an internal voice mail

Dial *5375, then the 4-digit extension (dial * to skip personal greeting)
