How To Participate

To request approval to become a Friends of Computer Science (FoCS), simply complete and return the request/interests form. Upon acceptance into the program, please send a check made out to "The University of Texas at Austin" with "Friends of Computer Science" on the check and/or in a letter of transmittal. Invoices are available by request. Send your form, letter, and/or payment to: Office of External Affairs, The University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Science, 1616 Guadalupe, Suite 2.408, Austin, TX 78701, or email focs [at] cs [dot] utexas [dot] edu.

FoCS contributions may also be paid by credit card through our online giving form. It is important to follow these instructions exactly to ensure that the funds are accounted for correctly. Please read the instructions carefully before donating online.

  1. In text box #1 entitled "Please enter your gift information", the first box should be pre-populated with "Natural Sciences, College of", and the second with "Friends of Computer Science". If these options are not pre-populated, please select them. Leave the third and fourth drop down boxes blank.
  2.  At the bottom of text box #1, please copy/paste the text below into the text box to ensure that the funds are deposited into the Friends of Computer Science account:

    Gift to the Department of Computer Science Friends of Computer Science for (insert company name and company representative's name and contact information here).

  3. Fill out the information requested in text box #2, and click "Next".
  4. Fill out the payment information requested on the following screen, and click "Pay".
  5. Once your application is approved and your contribution is documented, you will receive a packet with an acknowledgement letter of thanks and pertinent program information. You will also be contacted to schedule a strategy meeting designed to assess areas of collaboration and focus.
