The University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Sciences (UTCS) Friends of Computer Sciences (FoCS) 2007 Career Brunch was held in conjunction with the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) Career Expo on September 24, 2007 at the Frank Erwin Center.

The FoCS Career Brunch provides FoCS companies exclusive access to a select group of top CS students including Turing Scholars, Women in Computer Sciences, ACM and GRACS leaders - the best of the best at UTCS. FoCS members were recognized throughout the brunch as students and companies exchanged employment information for future interviews.

Both students and FoCS members described it as an extremely worthwhile event. Several FoCS members said it was exactly the type of event they needed for their recruitment efforts and some said it was their favorite recruiting event of the year. Although nervous when they walked in, students walked out with big smiles on their faces, grateful for the opportunity to come and excited about their futures. The event was also a great opportunity for UTCS faculty members to network with industry professionals, introduce their students to them and enjoy a hearty breakfast with friends.

If you are interested in joining FoCS to take advantage of these types of events, please see FoCS Membership Information or contact Nancy Hatchett at 512-471-9793.
