At the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Ray Mooney delivered the keynote talk on language learning, and it was very well received. Peter Stone was selected to be one of the co-chairs of next year's conference.
Also, Peter Stone and his student, Daniel Urieli, won PowerTAC, the Trading Agent Competition on electricity markets.
Finally, Brad Knox, who completed his Ph.D. with Peter, was included on IEEE's "10 to watch" list.
At the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), Kristen Grauman will receive the Computers and Thought Award, which is one of the highest honors in Artificial Intelligence. She will deliver a plenary talk: " Towards Large-Scale Visual Recognition and Search."
