As part of the College of Natural Sciences’ Discovery Education Week, on Thursday UT's College of Natural Science will celebrate award-winning science educators through Teaching Discovery Day.
President Fenves recently announced Calvin Lin as a recipient of the 2015-16 President's Associates Teaching Excellence Award. This award, established in the fall of 1980, recognizes the consistent level of excellence that Calvin has achieved in teaching undergraduates within the Department of Computer Science.
Professor Calvin has been selected for this year's Jean Holloway Award. Calvin Lin was student-nominated and student-selected awarded for this recognition.
The Department of Computer Science will decrease the number of required classes needed to obtain a degree from the department, a move some faculty hope will allow students to specialize in their interests and experience more while attending school.
