AUSTIN, Texas – Six assistant professors in the College of Natural Sciences have received Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) awards from the National Science Foundation.
The CAREER awards recognize promising young faculty and supports their research with five years of funding.

Five faculty in the College of Natural Sciences have recently been awarded 2012 Sloan Research Fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
The fellowships are given to early-career scientists and scholars whose achievements and potential identify them as rising stars, the next generation of scientific leaders.

Facebook has been distracting students and lowering grade point averages worldwide since 2004. But two students from the College of Natural Sciences and one from the McCombs School of Business have started a business to try to turn Facebook into study mode.
