Giving & Collaboration
The Nuts & Bolts
UTCS stands ready to assist with giving decision guidance to best meet donor needs. For example, giving in certain ways to UTCS can provide eligibility for UT giving societies and benefits, access to student talent and research, tax benefits or eligibility for emerging technology funding.
When possible, UTCS prefers unrestricted gifts in order to best meet the evolving needs of students and faculty. Proper stewardship of gifts is of paramount importance to the department.
When giving, please designate UTCS as the recipient on the web form, on the check or in a letter of transmittal to ensure it is deposited correctly.

Terminology
- Endowments
- Endowments are gifts that keep on giving because the principal remains untouched while generating needed annual revenue to support core missions, students, faculty, research and/or facilities. It is the most effective and most enduring way to give. Endowment donors may name their endowment for themselves, their company, loved ones or anonymously.
- Unendowed Support
- Annual or multi-year scholarships and fellowships
- Pipeline scholarships
- Diversity scholarships
- Unrestricted and/or outright gifts
