Jobs & Internships
Even in the rockiest of economic times, CS students get jobs. A recent survey of our graduates found that their average starting salary was $59,177.
Every two years the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics releases a ten-year projection of job growth in all employment areas. The Computing Community Consortium analyzed the most recent report (November, 2009) and concluded, "among all occupations in all fields of science and engineering, computer science occupations are projected to account for nearly 60% of all job growth between now and 2018.
The College of Natural Sciences Career Services Office (NSCS) helps students throughout the college find both internships and post-graduate jobs. The office works with hundreds of employers every year. And most of those employers are looking for CS students. At the Spring 2010 Career Fair, 87% of the companies were looking for CS students. To take advantage of the services that this office offers, you need to register with them. Visit their site to see how to do that.
