Why Study CS?
Computer Science is transforming virtually every aspect of our society, from the way we do our jobs to the way we interact with our friends. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2008) projected a 21% increase in need for CS degreed people in the next 10 years.
The Computer Science Department at UT-Austin is a major player in this transformation. We produce 20% of the all the CS graduates in Texas. Our graduates are leaders in major corporations and innovative start-ups.
