I'm a 4th year Ph.D student at The University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Computer Sciences. I am generally interested in distributed systems, specifically in the interactions between selfish agents over the network. I have been working in the field for about two years now with my advisor, Lorenzo Alvisi and Mike Dahlin.
I was born just outside of DC, but promptly moved to Chicago at the ripe old age of 3 months. By 7 we had relocated to Houston, Texas. I held onto the belief that I was from Chicago until somewhere during the middle of my time at Princeton University. After graduating I spent 1 year traveling in Southeast Asia (okay, so I was technically teaching in Singapore, but I ended up with about 70 vacation days that year, so....) I spent some time in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia before making my way to UT-Austin. Coming back to Texas has been an interesting experience as several people almost died of shock upon hearing that I was actually coming back to Texas. In my defense, Austin isn't really like the rest of Texas.
I currently live in my own house with two cats and some pretty cool people. These people include my fiancee Nathalie and partner in random crimes Harry Li.
If I'm not in the lab, I can generally be found somewhere coaching the UT ultimate frisbee team with Calvin Lin.
