Steffen:

We have traditionally had up to 4 book publisher tables. Last year we
had 3. The fee last year was $1000, which included a registration....
so the "table" was about 500-ish, and the rest was for registration...
Raising reg. rates would cause us to raise the "table fee".

See the names of the 4 we had in 2001 here:
http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/chris/sigcomm/conf/planning/local.chair/books2001

Matt Mathis mathis@psc.edu can supply the 2002 names/contacts.

I've quickly answered some of their questions below.

Thanks Chris

#Hello all,
#
#I received the following mail and would like to ask if someone knows how
# to handle this. Can anyone answer the questions below?

#Dear Mr Blödt/Ms Feldmann
#
#Re: ACM SIGGCOMM, 25-29 August 2003, Karlsruhe
#
#John Wiley & Sons, Ltd (publishers) are interested in the possibility of
#exhibiting some books and journals at the above conference. I would be
#grateful if you could provide the following information:
#
#* What is the cost of exhibition space?

$xxxx for table (typically near the breaks/registration
area) and for one person's registration.

#* What is the cost of leaflet insertion into delegate packs?

                not allowed

#* Is a bookseller attending and, if so, who is it?

we will only have publishers (up to 4)

Our motivation is for increasing communication between
the new books that the publishers are printing and
our researchers/students (who are either in the role of
educators choosing the book, readers, or authors)

#* What is the expected number of delegates?

Last several years has been 400+

#* Could we have a list of exhibitors already booked?

we will only have publishers (up to 4)
`
#* Could we have a copy of the preliminary or full program?

                wait until May.

#
#As soon as we have this information, we will be able to make our final
#decision on our attendance.
#
#Kind regards
