Dear Christophe:

I'm very pleased to hear that Sprint is considering co-sponsoring
ACM SIGCOMM 2000.

The ACM SIGCOMM conference is the premiere conference in computer
communications and has been held since 1983. It is very selective
and typically only 15% to 20% of the paper submissions get accepted.
The proceedings of SIGCOMM conferences receive wide distribution
(nearly 5,000 copies) and are archived in most technical libraries.

Every year we invite a select number of companies in our field to
co-sponsor the conference. The purpose of these contributions are
to improve conference logistics and to provide vital early seed money
before money from conference registrations begins to come in.

In return for their financial support, SIGCOMM recognizes corporate sponsors
by placing their name and corporate logo on the conference call for
participation (mailed to approximately 20,000 experts in the computer
communication field in the US and Europe), on the the cover of the
conference proceedings, and on the conference website. Note that becoming
a sponsor now rather than later ensures that we can place the company
logo on the call for participation and also in the on-line call for papers.

To make your contribution, please send your check made out to ACM SIGCOMM
with a note that it is a contribution for ACM SIGCOMM 2000 to the attention
of Erica Johnson, ACM, 1515 Broadway, New York, NY 10036. ACM SIGCOMM is
a 501(c)(3) and your contribution is tax deductible to the extent permitted
by law.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions,

Sincerely,

Craig Partridge
Chair, ACM SIGCOMM
