I believe that Jen has streamlined and modified this, such that the Award 
Chair introduces the SIGCOMM Award???

Plus, we need at least the following additions:
  SIGCOMM Chair:  add in the announcement of the ACM fellows, 
           plus other network related awards, such as Deborah Estrin's.
  Need to add Test of Time Award...

Hi folks:

Here's the first draft of this year's opening session choreography.  It
is different in modest respects from last year and may require a bit of
tuning.

    Welcome to the Conference - General Chairs
         A short speech that welcomes the attendees to the location,
         conveys community excitement that they are here, thanks volunteers
         who made it all possible.

    General Chair Introduces Local Arrangements Chair

    Local Logistics - Local Arrangements Chair
        Key issues.  Usually reminds folks where the social event will
        be and why it will be fun and how to get there.  Tell them where
        the laptop bar and wireless network connectivity is.  Remind
        them that we have a continental breakfast (OR NOT).

    General Chair Introduces Student Travel Grant Chair

    Student Travel Grants - Travel Grant Chair
        Thanks NSF and industry sponsors (by name) for support.  Notes
        how competitive the program is.  Asks travel grant recipients
        to stand.  Thanks travel grant evaluation committee.

    General Chair Introduces Program Co-Chairs

    Program Committee Discussion - Program Co-Chairs
        A short discussion of this year's program.  Number of submissions,
        effort put into reviewing submissions, innovations (e.g. position
        papers) this year.  Thanks to program committee members.

    Program Co-Chair gives Student Paper Awards
        [no address by students, but they do come up to receive awards]

    Program Co-Chair introduces Poster Session Chair

    Poster Session Discussion - Poster Session Chair
        Mention of this year's poster session.  Reminder that everyone has
        the abstracts and when the poster session will be.  Discussion of
        how many submissions received and selected.  Thanks to poster
        session committee.

    General Chair introduces SIGCOMM Chair

    SIGCOMM Welcome - SIGCOMM Chair
        Again welcomes everyone to the conference and adds SIGCOMM's thanks
        to General Co-Chairs, Program Co-Chairs, and other volunteers.

        Reminds attendees of SIGCOMM 2003 (venue and call for papers).  Mention
        of goal of innovating in the conference -- reference to open letter
        to community.  Mention detailed questionnaires.
