We are very pleased to inform you that your application for a travel
grant for HotNets-I has been accepted.  We have allocated a maximum of $YYY 
to reimburse you for your travel expenses. This amount is designed to cover

- Transportation: airfare (economy, in advance)  and shuttle or train 

- The hotel ($300). This will cover the cost of two nights at the
  conference hotel. Alternatively you can stay for an extended period
  of time provided that you share the room with another student.
  If you need a Saturday night stayover, then think of this as:
  $450 for the hotel and saving at least $150 from the transportation. 

- The conference registration ($150). Please note that you should
  register yourself, and then send the registration receipt together
  with all the other receipts to get reimbursed.

A HARD DEADLINE of Oct 1st, 2002 at 5:00pm Pacific Time has been set
to notify us of your acceptance of this award by registering at the

If we do not receive your acceptance, the award will immediately go to 
an alternate candidate.  You will soon receive details on how to claim
reimbursement.  We strongly encourage you to book your flight and
reserve your room immediately, to lock in a low rate.  Funds beyond the
amount awarded may be available in exceptional cases.  (If you must decline 
attending the workshop, please go ahead and send email to chris@cs.utexas.edu, 
since we are maintaining a waiting list.)

Information about the HotNets-I program and venue is available off the

participants to consist mostly of accepted authors and authors of
competitive papers relevant to the program, plus a small number of
external invitations including yourselves, and the organizing committee.
