DS Council Weekly Minutes for the Meeting on Wednesday, 23 January 2002
Barbara will be sending out a DS wide email about mentoring and tutoring because she is still short a few people.
Austin Science Fun Day is set for March 2nd; the theme is Texas Eco Systems. Barbara will be soliciting help (ie - manual labor) for "Ground Breaking Day" in a couple weeks.
T-shirts will be sold starting next week in the ds office for $5.
Improvements to the online Undergraduate Research Guide are in progress.
Clare let everyone know that the MSEP groups have been formed and will be going to the schools soon.
There was a brief brainstorming session on ways to make the office look nicer.
Bess, Cameron, and Clare are attending the lunch with the dean this Friday.
Voting for a new council member will take place during seminars next week.
IM basketball is starting next week.
Brandon asked how Friday Lunch was with the food and all, and the consensus seemed to be that it went well.
Brandon talked about trying to schedule a social at the comedy club sometime in March.
In what was record breaking time for making a decision about when to meet, the regular council meeting time was set for 9:30pm on Mondays (we actually came close to breaking the all time record for making any type of decision, but fell a little short due to a discussion of why it is usually so hard to make these types of decisions (go figure)).
