DS Council Weekly Minutes for the Meeting on Monday, 11 February 2002
Everyone signed up for a building in which to post fliers about the speaker.
A lot of people still haven't paid for Port A, so do this if you haven't.
Bess and Clare gave a summary of the last meeting with Laude. Basically, there is a lot of money waiting to be spent by anyone who takes the time to write a proposal for it.
Dr. Laude has allocated money for improvements of the Undergraduate Research Guide; those in the know will keep us posted.
UT Explore is March 2nd. The lovely Marguerite (aka - the booth person) will be organizing things for this.
Marguerite had us all brainstorm ideas (fun and not nerdy ones, that is) for 40 acres fest.
A plan of action for acquiring more pictures for the website was developed.
Barbara gave us the 411 on all of her stuff (mentoring, tutoring, groundbreaking, austin science fun day).
A brainstorming session on speaker ideas was held.
IM sports (basketball, soccer, and ultimate) are happening - duh!
Bess is planning a night of bingo for March 1st; watch for an email from her with details. Also, there will be a trip to the comedy club put on the calendar as soon as Brandon gets word of the performance schedule.
Marwan and James will be purchasing food for Port A sometime next week.
