• Everyone agreed that the picnic went splendidly. Somewhere around 100 people showed up, which apparently is some kind of record.
• The council elections for first year members will take place this Thursday, 9/5, in Gearing 114. Bess, James, and Marshall will conduct the elections at 4:35 PM.
• Sometime within the next couple of weeks there will be an info meeting to get first year students acquainted with some of the activities available to them in DS. This will take place directly after the first year seminar on a Thursday. We will discuss this in more detail at our next meeting.
• Clare reported that the response rate for MSEP isn't quite what she was hoping for, but that hopefully more people will get on board within the next couple of weeks.
• The first year dinner will take place this Saturday at 6:00 pm at Dr. Starbird's house. There will be two cooking shifts, from 12-3 and 3-6, as well as a post-dinner clean-up shift. Sign up with Clare.
• The council dinner with Dr. Cline and Elaine will take place on Sunday, September 22nd at 7 PM at Eastside Café.
• DS football ticket groups are going well. We have the tickets for the UH game in hand, and the next draw is a couple of weeks away.
• There's a record turnout for IM sports -- we have 2 football teams of 18 people apiece, including 16 girls. Way to go, ladies of DS!
• Pictures from the picnic are now up on the DS website.
• Movie Nights will start again next Friday. The theme is yet to be determined.
• At next weeks meeting we will need to come prepared to amend the DSSA Constitution and Bylaws to account for ties in DS council elections.
• Our preferred Fort Davis dates are, in order: November 16-17, November 2-3, November 9-10. Dr. Cline will select one of these weekends.
