DS Council Weekly Minutes for the Meeting on Tuesday, 08 October 2002
|
In attendance: Marshall, Tim, Swee, Jeffrey, Will, Bess, Ann Marie, James, Andy,
Ellie, Cameron, Clare
Absent: Barbara, Brittany
- Ann Marie looked into T-shirt prices, and the best we could do for the
preferred baseball-t design was in the neighborhood of $10 per shirt.
- The Organ Donor Drive will take place November 4th through the 18th.
Contrary to many questions we've fielded in the past from passers-by on the
West Mall, this does not involve people volunteering to donate a kidney on
the spot. Rather, they sign little cards to carry around with them that
indicate their status as an organ donor.
- We should know any day now when exactly our office move will take place.
- Longhorn Halloween is October 27th in the Erwin Center. Jeffrey is
coordinating this event, and his e-mails contain further details. We're
doing liquid nitrogen ice cream.
- Parents weekend is the same weekend as above, and we are going to have
some sort of event.
- Bess has a Karaoke social planned this weekend.
- Our football and volleyball teams took losses, but there is
still plenty of hope for the playoffs.
- The Natural Sciences Council is sponsoring a game-day social this weekend
before the Kansas State away game. It will take place in the Union
Underground. There will be free food, free bowling, and free socializing
with SURGE officers. Stay tuned for details, because as far as I know the
time has not yet been set.
- The Deans Scholars Distinguished Speaker Series hosts Paul Berg on Monday,
October 21st. Please help pepper the campus with flyers.
- MSEP is going smoothly, and there seems to be nothing to report on that
front.
