DS Council Weekly Minutes for the Meeting on Tuesday, 05 November 2002
|
In attendance: Clare, Tim, James, Brittany, Ann Marie, Will, Swee, Cameron, Andy,
Bess, Marshall, Ellie, Jeffrey, Barbara
Absent: No one!
- Marshall and Ann Marie volunteered to attend lunch with the dean.
- We briefly reviewed the curriculum meeting that occurred two Thursdays
ago. Of particular interest is the proposed Research Methods class, because
no one knows exactly what to expect from it. Speak to Dr. Cline if you have
legitimate suggestions.
- Barbara reported that mentoring and tutoring at Ortega Elementary started
this week.
- Ann Marie talked for a bit about the organ donor drive. Make sure to
show up for your shifts or contact her if you need to change your scheduled
time. Also feel free to hang around the table any time you are free. I
suggest that we all help out the cause by announcing the organ donor drive
in our classes this week, especially the big ones.
- We will celebrate (i.e. did celebrate) Dr. Cline's birthday on the bus to
Fort Davis. We will say (i.e. already said) happy birthday to him, rather
than sing it to him.
- Obviously the Fort Davis trip was this past weekend. We will get a report
at this week's meeting.
- We will have a fall edition of DS Science Fun Day on December 6th.
- The Siemens Westinghouse competition for high school science studies is
taking place this Friday. We need DS students to help assist in various
capacities.
- DS teams are uncertain of their playoff status in volleyball, but in
soccer we're in. Good luck, ladies and fellas!
