Visiting Scholars Program
The Dean's Scholars program now offers a Visiting
Scholars Program to exchange students from around
world. This is a purely enriching program and not
a set academic curriculum or degree plan as what
four year students receiving their degree at UT
must adhere to if in Dean's Scholars. This is a
way for exchange students in the College of Natural
Science to still be able to participate in events
and programs as if they were an honor student with
the college's honors program during their short
visit. We are looking for students who are more
than willing to go above and beyond what is expected
from the average student in their love of science,
learning, research, and service to school and
community.
If you are selected to participate, you will be
immersed in a supportive social and academic
environment. The program offers:
- Friday lunch: weekly lectures by UT
professors with complimentary lunch.
- Field trips: weekend visits to McDonald
Observatory in Ft. Davis and the Marine
Sciences Institute at Port Aransas.
- Weekly seminars: classes led by the best
Natural Sciences professors; students
engage in casual conversations on
wide-ranging contemporary scientific
issues.
- Four annual dinners: casual dinners
hosted by the program director and other
UT professors.
- Social events: intramural sports teams,
theater group, music ensemble, fine arts
hobby group, to outdoors recreational
events, etc.
