The TIA Program and the ACM’s Response
When the TIA program was proposed, the ACM composed a letter in response. ACM members were invited to sign the letter. Read the letter. Then answer the following questions:
1. Would you have signed the letter? Why or why not?
2. Under what circumstances do you think it is appropriate for professional organizations like the ACM to write letters such as this?
Your responses may be short. A paragraph or two for each question is probably enough. We are looking for well-reasoned arguments. You will almost certainly want to write your responses in first person since we are asking for your opinion.
