Electronic Communication for CS354

Subscribe to the CS354 Mailing List

To receive CS354 class announcements, you must subscribe to the course mailing list. There are two ways to do this:

Send an email message to the listserv email address

sympa@lists.cc.utexas.edu

with the following line in the body of the message:

subscribe cs354_spring09

or point your web browser at the list webpage

https://utlists.utexas.edu/sympa/subscribe/cs354_spring09/,

click on Subscribe in the menu on the left of the page, and provide your email address at the prompt.

If you wish to remove yourself from the email list:

Send the following message to the listserv email address
unsubscribe cs354_spring09
or point your browser at the list webpage, click Unsubscribe on the menu at the left and follow the directions.

Please do not send subscribe or unsubscribe messages to the course list directly!!!

You can view the course email archive by going to the list webpage and clicking on Archive on the menu to the left once you have subscribed.

Course resources on Blackboard

Course announcements will also be made via Blackboard. Blackboard provides a forum for you and your classmates to correspond about anything CS354 related: looking for study partners, asking questions about confusing handouts, missed classes, etc. If you are not familiar with blackboard, instructions for using it are available here.

Note that the instructor and TAs will not always be able to monitor the discussion forum on a timely basis, so do not use this for urgent communications. If you have an urgent question, please send the TA an email with a SUBJECT line of:

Subject: CS354?:

or come visit during office hours. Face-to-face meetings are still recommended, even in this high-tech world.
