About Me

I'm a second-year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. I am interested in machine learning, computer vision, and robotics, and my adviser is Professor Peter Stone. I am a member of the Learning Agents Research Group and the Austin Villa Robot Soccer Team.

As a member of the robot soccer team, and I compete in the Standard Platform League. I helped the team win first place at the 2012 US Open, and win the world championship at RoboCup 2012 in Mexico City.

I received my BA in Pure Mathematics from Whitman College in May, 2007. At Whitman I researched semiorders and Riordan numbers under the guidance of my adviser, Professor Barry Balof.

I am currently working with Piyush Khandelwal on the Building-Wide Intelligence project, with the goal of creating a network of robotic assistants to aid the residents and visitors of the new Bill & Melinda Gates Computer Science Complex. My focus for this project is in person tracking and identification, along with infrastructure development.

I am also researching real-time visual object and geometry detection for the robot soccer team.
