Revised Grading Scheme for 336

The final is now optional. If you take it, then your grade will be computed just as described in the syllabus using the final and homework 10. Note this means your grade may go or down from where it is now.

If you choose not to take the final, then your grade will be based on your current average (without homework 10). That is the last number on the strip of paper you got in class (send me email if you did not pick up your strip of paper). Here are the grade ranges

A 86-100

B 76-85

C 59-75

D 49-58

F 0-48

If you do not want to take the final, just don’t show for it and you will get the grade above. If you come to the final and look at it, then you must take it and it will be counted along with homework 10. You CANNOT come and look at the final and then make up your mind. If you show for the final (and look at it) it will be counted!
