Acknowledgments

I would like to thank all the people who have, over time, used the KnEd interface. Your use, testing, and feedback have helped KnEd to become a robust system.

In particular, I would like to thank Liane Acker, James Lester, Rich Mallory, and Jeff Rickel for their patient use of KnEd. And, I would like to thank Art Souther, the only full-time KnEd user, for always being amiable while he described the latest KnEd bug that he had uncovered.

Brad Blumenthal also played an important role, since he patiently taught me the basics of lisp hacking and gave KnEd its initial form.

Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to thank my advisor, Bruce Porter. Not only has he given me his support and encouragement, but he has given me his friendship as well.

Support for this research was provided by a grant from the National Science Foundation (IRI-9120310), a contract from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (F49620-93-1-0239), and donations from the Digital Equipment Corporation.
