The following information was kindly provided by Lindy Aleshire of the UT Computer Science department. ..... Austin Folk House/Star of Texas Inn rates for this event are $125/night. This is their standard rate. Visit their website to see the rooms (which are quite nice). The majority of their rooms are kings or queens. It's first come, first served with regards to room size availability. The Quarters at Hardin House have many different rooms/configurations available and we are not limited to just what we reserved in our block. They will work with you to ensure you get the space you need. Below are listed first the group rate we got and then the regular rate, which will be charged only if we don't meet a minimum for the block (still extremely affordable): Full apartment w/King, private bath: $135 (regular rate $159) Full apartment w/ 2 twin beds, private bath: $135 (regular rate $159) King room, private bath: $105 (regular rate $139) 2 twin beds room, private bath: $105 (regular rate $139) 1 twin bed room in suite of 3 rooms with shared bath in suite/alcove: $68 (regular rate $87) - - The room blocks we have with both of these BnBs can be honored May 21 - 26 and, if available, they would be willing to honor the rate a couple days in advance and after the event. Please consider staying at these local options in order to help us fill the room block they have so generously provided. - - For comparison: AT&T Conference center: standard king $299 Hampton Inn & Suites Austin University/Capitol: standard king $299 Hotel Indigo: standard king $180 Doubletree By Hilton Austin: standard king $250 Doubletree University: standard king $189 - Lindy adds: It might also be worth mentioning that international attendees who need to make arrangements might want to contact me (Lindy) directly. I can set up their reservation via email and the Quarters at Hardin House is willing to trust us for payment. [Note: Return to previous page for a link to Lindy's email.]
