Weaknesses of A.I. Planning
Much work on planning in A.I. has been based on assumptions that are
very optimistic:
- The robot knows all the relevant facts about the world.
- The world can be described by a small set of predicates.
- The robot is the only actor.
- Actions produce the desired effects.
Planning without such assumptions is a difficult problem on which
more research is needed.
