The Loch

The Loch is seen looking SW up Loch Vale. This is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Park, only about 3 miles from trailhead (Glacier Gorge or Bear Lake). The Loch sits in a majestic alpine setting, surrounded by dramatic cliffs. Timberline Falls can be seen in the distance at the center of the photo; Taylor Glacier is above the falls at the base of a snow-filled couloir that can be climbed to the Continental Divide.
