Escaping the Heat

Nathan is trying to communicate. He is able to point to his ear as a sign for "listen". He understands the words "acuestate" and "beso" and will even give hugs and kisses upon request.

His coordination is much better... He walks approximately 80% of the time. He can move forward in his Home Depot truck, twist open caps, and spoon feed himself with both his right and left hand.

He has finally begun to eat chunkier food. He's tried fish sticks, chicken pieces, and even a carrot stick. But his favorite is bread... we have to keep it out of sight or he won't eat anything else.

And he's quite playful. He loves to play pacifier fetch and throw balls and even fakes a few throws to psych us out.

We went on a vacation to Boston and London, Ontario in May (Well, Greg worked. Nathan and I were vacationing). Nathan enjoyed three weeks filled with new experiences. He got to chase ducks, geese, and other birds at the Boston Common and he saw sea lions, penguins, sharks, turtles, and fish at the aquarium. He couldn't get enough of the Common and seemed to really enjoy the sea lion show. It was also wonderful to spend some time in London with the family. Nathan loved playing with his older cousins. It's unfortunate that we can't visit more often. It appears as though he's at an age where he can recognize people in photos. Ever since May, he's been very curious about the Plaxton family portait we have in the living room. He's especially smitten with his grandma... he points to her picture all the time.

(Oh yes, Nathan played with a sprinkler for the first time on June 4th.)
