Research Projects

I am a member of the Real-Time Graphics and Parallel Systems group, which is exploring algorithms and architectures for future graphics systems organized around highly parallel, "general-purpose" single-chip parallel-processing hardware. For more details, see our Real-Time Rendering Systems in 2010 Tech Report.

For my dissertation, I am researching methods to improve the computation-to-bandwidth ratio for ray tracing. I am advised by Don Fussell, Calvin Lin, and Bill Mark.

I am currently a Graduate Research Assistant in the Visualization and Data Analysis group at the Texas Advanced Computing Center. One of my visualizations was International Science Grid This Week's Image of the Week for February 7th, 2007. I performed the vis for Volker Bromm's cosmological theory research group. For more information on this project, see our First Stars portal.

For Summer 2006, I interned under Jim Hurley at the Applications Research Lab, part of the Corporate Technology Labs at Intel Corporation.

For Summer 2005, I interned under Al McPherson with the Vis Team of the Advanced Computing Laboratory at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
