Format of the Course
This is a research seminar course and there will be less lecturing
but more class discussions.
In addition to the class meeting time, you will also be engaged
in independent study of a particular topic in systems security.
In the first 1/3 of the semester, you will do extensive literature reading
and do a presentation to the class.
In the second 1/3 of the semester, you will do an individual project
(phase I) and make a short presentation to the class.
In the last 1/3 of the semester, you will do a group project (phase II)
and do a demonstration at the end. See Projects below for more details.

if you like or dislike any of these slots: 12:30-2, 4:45-6.
- [Aug 1] This new research seminar course is intended
for graduate students who have some background in cryptography
(e.g., CS378 "Cryptography") and security
(e.g., Gouda's CS395T course on "Secure Network Protocols"),
and wish to further study the discipline of computer security
in real systems. The course objective is achieved through
extensive literature study and a research project.
